Garlic Season Is Upon Us

A couple of new crops will be in this week and I trust you'll approve. First off, yellow squash will be harvested. This week's harvest will be limited, but should be stronger in upcoming weeks.
Also we will be harvesting our German Music garlic. This is a hard neck red garlic which is strong, but not over the top. As you may or may not know, in order for it to keep for long storage, once garlic is harvested, it needs to be dried for several weeks. However, I will be selling the undried garlic this week. If you order garlic this week, keep it in the fridge and try to use it within the week.
Since we only use natural insecticides and pesticides, we are in a constant battle to outwit the pests. In this weather, some crops have suffered, but hopefully after replanting, many of the limited crops will be plentiful in the upcoming weeks.
Other than that, most of the other crops are the same as last week. Please remember to order by Monday evening in order for a Thursday morning pickup. And thank you for those of you who are returning the egg and plastic containers,
Enjoy your week and hope you are enjoying your produce here at Shiloh Run Farm.
