Ending With A Bang

The end is here.
It's been a rewarding, exhausting, enjoyable, nerve-racking year making sure you had top shelf fresh organic vegetables every week. We did the usual combating of the weather and the other elements that cause crops to falter. We've failed at times, learned at times and had a number of successes. To be honest the most difficult part of a CSA for me is planning all the vegetables to be at the peak flavor every Tuesday. I truly hope you had a positive experience and enjoyed the ride along the way.
We will be adding butternut squash to the mix this week and not losing anything from last week. Which means you'll also be receiving acorn squash, spaghetti squash, zucchini, yellow squash, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, Swiss chard, kale, onions, eggplant, bell and hot peppers, radishes green beans, leaf lettuce, arugula, garlic and basil. Like I said, we're ending with a bang. In fact, if you have a hankering for making your own pesto, feel free to take any of the extra basil that I have growing next to the barn.
I do need the share boxes back, so either give me the box tomorrow and bring some bags to get your vegetables or you can return the box some time in the next few weeks.
During the off-season if you have the need for honey, eggs or goat cheese/milk let me know ahead of time so I can put some aside for you. Also, I will be making an organic Carolina Reaper hot sauce in a few weeks. I've sold out within the first few days the last couple of years, but as a CSA member, if you're interested in a bottle or two I can reserve some for you.
I will be be available from 3:30-6:30 tomorrow. Again thanks for trusting in us for providing your weekly vegetable needs and hope you were satisfied with everything.
