A New Month and New Vegetables

As June begins, you will see some new and interesting vegetables coming in as well.

It's still lettuce season, so there is no fear of you running out of salads this week. In fact, if you're looking for something different to do with lettuce, may I suggest "Lettuce Wraps." Our favorite recipe is taken from PF Chang's . The large Butterhead Lettuce heads are perfect for these wraps.

On top of the lettuce, you again will be getting Kale, Arugula, Radishes and Oregano,; we will also be adding Spinach this week. Thanks to our high tunnel, yellow Summer Squash and Zucchini will be coming in during this month. Tomorrow we have a few baby squashes, but they will become more numerous as the month progresses. The Snow Peas are just coming in as well. We have a small taste of them for the Full Share people, but we hope to have everyone enjoying them by next week.

We will be using small plastic containers for various vegetables throughout the year, including tomorrow. If you could remember to return them the following week, it would be a big help.

Also, if you enjoyed the free samples of goat cheese last week, with a few days notice, we can add some to your share on a week by week basis. We charge $6 for an 8 oz container. Also, we sell free range chicken eggs for $4 a dozen and a pound of our raw honey for $7. Again, just let us know at least a couple of days in advance.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow from 3:30 to 6:30.

Mark
